Kohima Football League 2018 begins

Three new teams – Twenty XI FC, Vanguard FC and Sechii Zubza will be joining Ziekezou SC, New Market FC, United 16 FC and Khriekesa FC to vie for the much coveted title of second season of Kohima Football League (KFL) 2018.

A press briefing was held during launching of clubs jerseys at Where’s The Food (WTF) restaurant near Cathedral Church on Saturday where Kohima Town Club, (KTC) the organizers of Kohima Football League (KFL) 2018 have announced that an enhancement of
₹20,000/- have been made to 1st and 2nd prizes. In this edition, the champion team will walk away with a total of ₹1,00,000 /- along with running trophy, citation, medals and certificates while runner-up will be contented with ₹80,000 /- with trophy, citation, medals and certificates.

In addition, cash and prizes have been arranged for various individual awards – Player of The Tournament (PTO), Highest Scorer, Best Goalkeeper, Best Defence, Best Midfield, Best Coach, Best Disciplined Club and Best Fan Club.

The teams will play a double tier league which will commence from 17th July to 24th August to decide the KFL 2018 champion. The inaugural match will be payed between defending champion Ziekezou SC and United 16 FC at 1:00 PM on Monday (17 July) at Khuociezie local ground in Kohima.

Dr.Neikesalie Nicky Kire, Advisor Rural Development (RD), Government of Nagaland will attend the inaugural function of KFL 2018.

The ticket gallery is priced at Rs.50/- while the season ticket at Rs.1000/- per head.

It is to be mentioned that five players participated in the 1st KFL have already started playing in other states.
