Vanguard FC – Tseminyu (Old Boys) vs All Blacks FC

Match Report :

The debutants of MPL, the VFC Old Boys who were the underdogs against the defending Champions, All Blacks, played a very spirited match and won the game after taking the lead on the 25th minute through a header by the defender Senpenlo Kath(4) from a freekick by Benjamin Tsela (9).

In the second half, The Old Boys doubled the score-line with a driven shot by the Old Boy winger Dithanglo Magh (10) in the 49th minute after an appeal for handball which was not awarded by the referee. Thanpenlo Woch (13) replaced Shalo Khing (19) in attack in the 55th minute. A few minutes later, Senpenlo (4) of VFC was cautioned in the 58th minute for a challenge on an All Blacks player.

The All Blacks fought back and scored a goal to reduce their deficit in the 65th minute through a header by former VFC Coach Kechangulie Dul after which the All Blacks attacked the Old Boys goal time and again but in vain as the Old Boys stood strong and committed in guarding their goal with grit and resilience. The Old Boys made another substitution replacing winger Henumo Thong (15) with Tenyuhunlo (11) in the 80th minute to seal off the game in favour of the Old Boys and collect all full three points from their first match.
